hybrid cars - if celebrites carpool do they still need to own hybrid cars?

carpooling is a way to save the environment by cutting down in toxins in the air, and decreasing the amount of natural resources are used. Is it really practical though for a celebrity to carpool? Do you think a diva would allow this? Would anyone want to carpool with a drunk, intoxicated or drugged driver?

As tree hugging eco friendly celebrities get together to tackle this problem, you could very well see them showing up to award ceremonies in the same hybrid cars.

The question is, how do they get regular non famous people to carpool and drive hybrid cars?
Product placement is one way, and placing them into tv shows like Larry David. The organization Environmental Media Association (EMA), which signs up willing stars like Cameron Diaz and Edward Norton to promote eco-awareness in their lives and work. The non-profit has created a program called 'gene' (generation environment) to generate a sort of pop culture 'product placement' that no amount of ad dollars can buy, which is proving effective among the twenty- and thirty-somethings EMA targets.

The group also has its own awards ceremony to honor entertainers who have best tackled environmental issues and raised awareness in their storylines.
